What DriveMirror does

A drive letter, not a sync folder.

Nothing to relearn: Explorer, Word, AutoCAD, your line-of-business software open the drive's files like any others. No local copy of the whole storage, no mirror folder to keep an eye on.

The drive

S:, M:, P: — whichever letter you want, for each space.

  • A real Windows drive, visible in “This PC”, usable by every application — not a special folder in Explorer.
  • Several drives at once, each on its own bucket or prefix, read-write or read-only.
  • Mounted at Windows start-up, in the notification area, with no window to leave open.

The lock — what every other S3 drive is missing

Whoever opens first writes. Everyone else reads, and knows who holds the file.

  • A lock set on opening for writing: on the other PCs the file opens read-only, with the name of the person holding it.
  • No more “John's conflicted copy”, no more version overwritten at the end of the day, no more quote written twice.
  • Released on closing, and expired on its own if a PC switches off abruptly: a file never stays blocked because a computer crashed.
  • The list of open files, with who and since when, and the administrator's ability to take over a lock.

Your storage

The storage you already have, or the one you will choose.

  • Anything that speaks S3: Amazon, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, iDrive e2, OVHcloud, Scaleway, Cloudflare R2, MinIO.
  • You choose your provider, you negotiate its price, you leave whenever you want. We do not resell storage and we do not host any.

The cache

Fast, because nothing is downloaded twice.

  • A local cache keeps what you just opened close at hand: a file you have already looked at reopens at disk speed, not line speed.
  • Changes are uploaded in the background; you keep working.
  • A ceiling you set, and a cache purged when an access is withdrawn.

The fleet — Business plan

You set things up once. Each employee gets a file, and their drives create themselves.

  • A master licence for the administrator; the Administration tab appears in their application.
  • Profiles — which drives, read or write — and one enrolment token per person.
  • No storage credentials travel anywhere: not to us, not to your employees. They mount the drives without ever seeing the keys.
  • Withdrawing an access really withdraws it: remote unmount and cache purge on the PC.

Security

Your credentials stay with you. We cannot access your storage.

  • Your S3 keys are encrypted on your PC by Windows, bound to your user account. They never leave your computer.
  • The lock service exchanges only the bare minimum to know who holds what: a file name, a PC identifier, an expiry date. Never a file's content, never your keys.
  • No server to maintain: no domain controller, no NAS, no VPN, no machine to back up. The lock service is hosted by us.

Subscribe — choose the number of seats

Prices exclusive of tax. Your country's VAT is added at payment (17% in Luxembourg); EU businesses enter their intra-community VAT number for a VAT-free invoice. Payment by card, SEPA transfer or direct debit, processed by Stripe; the licence arrives by e-mail as soon as payment is confirmed. The Business subscription can be cancelled at any time: the drives stay mounted until the paid term ends, then switch to read-only.

FAQ

What people ask us before buying.

What happens if a PC switches off while holding a file?

The lock expires on its own after a few minutes without news from the PC. The file becomes free again, and the administrator can also take over a lock by hand from the list of open files.

Do my files pass through your servers?

No. Content goes straight from your PC to your S3 provider. Our lock service only sees file names, PC identifiers and expiry dates — never content, never a key.

Do my employees need to know the S3 keys?

No, that is the point of the fleet: the administrator configures the drives once, each employee receives an enrolment file and their drives mount themselves. The keys stay on the administrator's PC, encrypted by Windows.

Which storage services are compatible?

Anything that speaks the S3 protocol: Amazon S3, Wasabi, Backblaze B2, iDrive e2, OVHcloud, Scaleway, Cloudflare R2, and MinIO on your own server. A connection test confirms it before you save.

Do I need an account?

No. The Pro licence is a signed file, verified offline. The Business plan needs no account either: the administrator receives a master licence, employees an enrolment file.

What happens if I change PC?

Reinstall DriveMirror, import your licence, remount your drives. The Pro licence is valid on your machines; a lost file is resent from the “Recover my licence” page.
